The Organic Pear Tree (Pyrus communis) is a classic fruit tree belonging to the Rosaceae family. This particular tree has been organically grown, which means it has been cultivated with respect for nature, without the use of chemical synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilizers. This cultivation method allows the tree to develop robust health and contributes to a more sustainable living environment.

Features: The pear tree is a deciduous, grafted fruit tree known for its elegant, often pyramidal growth habit. The tree is supplied as a young specimen, ready for planting in the ground or in a large pot. In spring, the tree is adorned with beautiful white blossoms, an early and rich source of nectar for bees. After successful pollination, these flowers will develop into juicy, sweet pears, guaranteeing a delicious and valuable harvest.

Appearance icon Appearance

This organic pear tree is supplied as a young, deciduous tree with a height of approximately 60 cm. The tree has a clear main trunk with branches that form the basis for the crown. The leaves are oval, shiny dark green, and sturdy in structure. In spring, it looks its best thanks to the abundant white blossoms that cover the branches. This is followed by the development of the pears, which can be green, yellow, or reddish depending on the variety. In autumn, the leaves often turn a beautiful golden yellow to red before falling from the tree, adding seasonal decorative value to the garden.

Location icon Location

The pear tree is a real sun lover and needs plenty of light for healthy growth and a rich harvest. It thrives best in a sunny to semi-shaded spot, with at least six hours of direct sunlight per day being ideal. The location must be sheltered from strong winds. The tree has specific soil requirements: the soil must be well-drained, deep, fertile, and preferably slightly calcareous. Make sure there is enough space around the tree, as it can grow considerably over the years.

Water requirement icon Water Demand

As a young tree and during the growing season (spring to fall), the pear tree needs a regular and adequate supply of water. It is crucial that the soil remains moist, especially during dry periods and when the fruit is developing. Good drainage is essential to prevent waterlogging and subsequent root rot. It is best to water the tree thoroughly in one go and allow the top layer of potting soil/soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.
